And Bob’s Your Dunkle

Monday Aug 14, 2023

Monday Aug 14, 2023

In this episode, I am joined by Kaity Neideck and Abi Lloyd Bertrand Brew Master's for South River Brewing Co in South River, Ontario. The brewing industry is one of the most under-represented for female careers; despite women being the, initial, brewers, this industry is now dominated by males. It is so interesting to listen to their stories about finding a career in brewing in their small community (South River's population was reported at 1101 in 2021). And, just like many other careers, Katy and Ali found their positions through networking and taking a chance on themselves. Katy may even quote her 'pops' in this episode!! During our chat we also heard that this brewery is, actually, mostly run by females! We LOVED hearing this and seeing such a great representation in this community. I hope you will enjoy this conversation as much as we did! So, grab a pint and listen to these two amazing women who are doing great things in a male dominated industry.Thank you to South River for having us. We loved this conversation and, hey, even Tipsy the brewery dog is a female!! A True Introduction

Thursday Jun 08, 2023

Thursday Jun 08, 2023

With the encouragement of Producer Ken, I decided to record a series of solo podcasts telling a bit about my story. These past 30+ years of an IT career have taught me a lot about being an authentic person even when my opinions may not be the same as others in the room. And that is okay ...honestly, that started when I was in high school and told that I couldn't be a CEO because I'm a girl from a small town. How's that for support? I hope you will give this a listen and I would love to have you share what other career fields you would like to see represented on the show. Drop me a message or email (emily_carlson@yahoo.com) to share your ideas!Thank you for your continued support - I love this platform and sharing the messages of everyone we've talked with.
